Ardnamurchan Timelapse
Mon, Nov 29, 2010It is properly snowing here in Edinburgh and I’m dreaming of roaring log fires in Ardnamurchan.
My husband has recently starting experimenting with timelapse on his camera so today I’m posting a video rather than a still. His first attempt at creating a timelapse was taken during our stay in Old Kilmory Church in Ardnamurchan. Essentially you set the camera up to take a photo every second or so and end up with a pretty cool wee video. I’ve probably totally simplified a very complicated technique there, sorry Arran!

We haven’t taken nearly enough film of Euan and I love this one because it shows the most predictable part of our day – Euan’s bedtime routine.
You can see more of Arran’s work on his website: arranmoffat.co.uk.

Hey guys…Lovin the timelapse Arran – very clever. Especially enjoyed the bit where you and Anna appeared to frantically pass Euan backward and forward practicing your rugby spin pass technique!!
Ace photos pinned on either end too – the stars shot is great!
Anna, this is so incredible! (And can I say that we have very similar baby play techniques… it was like watching a snapshot from my own living room back when my son was Euan’s age!)
I can’t fully express how much I love this. We always had what we called “Quiet Time” with Tommy before bed (somehow wasn’t quite as regular once the second one came along). I wish I had thought to make something like this! Thank you for taking me back to that sweet, sweet time.
I’m so pleased you all liked it. It’s a lovely reminder of a great holiday. Euan loves a bit of horse play – although perhaps just before bed time isn’t the best idea
the timelapse is so cool, you guys look like a lovely couple
That is so cool! My daughter sat next to me through the whole thing just giggling at the baby moving around. What a treasure to have as he grows up!

So glad you and your daughter enjoyed it! We must make more of these, such a nice alternative to stills.
I love timelapse. I once made A time lapse of a sprouting mongo bean for 24 hours and a sunset from 4-6pm. It’s just like you are time traveling.
